Mutation

In a desire to change the structure of  “mother nature”, to play and mutate a bloom with unusual colors and unique shapes, I discovered a collection of grand design plates by E.A. Seguy from1925. These bold stylized flower motifs are drawn on a ground of geometric or abstract arrangements of color pattern.  I immediately connected with these art nouveau images bathed in saturated colors and began to explore design elements that I could interpret into art quilts.
