This commission was inspired by the woods that surround Or Hadash Synagogue and the memory of a man who loved nature and these woods that surrounded the sacred space of his synagogue.. Depicting the four seasons, a universal theme of all religions, and featuring the sunset and sunrise of the lunar calendar that distinguishes Judaism.
Included on the back of the quilt:
“Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence.
Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance.
Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence.
Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.”
